REMINISCING TIBET : MORE PERSPECTIVES - OLGA GARRIGA

As I ponder back on my journey to Tibet , I am reminded of the enormity of this task. It was a trip unlike any other I have taken. The initial journey through Kathmandu served as a setting of the energies that would follow as we trekked through Tibet . I had not really prepared for the heat that we had in Kathmandu as I focused my energy on packing clothes for "cold, wet" weather so my initial adjustment was to be the regulating of temperature with the clothing I had brought.

Once we landed in Tibet , I immediately felt the adjustment in my physical body to the altitude. It was not as drastic as I thought it might be but there was a definite lightheadedness that could be felt as soon as I stepped off the plane. Luckily, I was able to adjust without much difficulty. The highlights of Lhasa for me included the Potala Palace and the Summer Palace .

Of course, the magnificent energies that we anchored as we completed Module IIIA were the icing on the cake. Thanks to Saranya for facilitating such amazing work and to Paul and Omashar for complementing it so delightfully with music!

From there, we headed on our journey towards Kailash. Needless to say the landscape was amazing. I also really enjoyed seeing the local people of the area. At times it was a challenge to eat our lunch as we tried to please the little hands asking for a treat, but the energy was all in love and it was nice to be able to share this with the beautiful people of Tibet The journey by car got longer... dustier... and maintained its high degree of heat...but when we reached Lake Mansarovar, the pain was somewhat forgotten.

The magnificence of this Lake is indescribable. I was grateful that the water was also bearable for this Puerto Rican girl ( I don't really go into the ocean in Puerto Rico as I think the water is too cold...but I made it into the lake). The joy I felt in my heart when I came out of the water was enormous. I was bathed in love. The next day, some of us started our journey by foot around Mt. Kailash . It was a great warm-up for the rest of the trek. It was also a lesson on what not to carry as the backpack became heavier and heavier with each hill in front of me... The reward for my day's work was an amazing view of the Wesak Valley and our camp tents all pitched for a couple of days.

Which brings me to the trek... I guess the only way to summarize the experience is to say it was physically the hardest thing I have done in this lifetime. I know the support of so many light beings beaming me with love carried me part of the way. I must thank all those that walked beside me, in front of me and behind me for your energy was an inspiration to keep going. I also noticed that in order to climb up the North Section on the second day of the trek, I needed to release all thoughts and emotions and become totally present with myself. This way, my focus was literally on moving my feet and breathing. These became the only two requirements to climbing the last few miles that day. The feeling at the top of the mountain was amazing. Total gratitude and awe for what I had just completed. Again, THANK YOU to all those who helped me to the top. But what goes up must come down and so there was not much time to enjoy the climb as we needed to head down before it became too late in the day. Once again, being present with myself was important in order to remain focused on the task.

The third day of the trek was not much easier as we crossed frozen streams in the snow and walked on narrow paths. I felt the lack of oxygen affecting my body in a way it had not before. My energy was quickly draining and I had to slow down my pace. Thankfully for some amazing beings that shared oxygen drops and later on a few puffs from an oxygen supply helped the body finish the task.

Returning to our family waiting at Lake Mansarovar was probably one of the highlights of the journey. The welcome we received was just overflowing with aumni-love. Twenty of us took on the task of walking the path but it was really the whole family who carried the energy and the love. And so, with a sense of accomplishment we could look back and prepare to head home.

Needless to say, by now a shower was all I could think of ...( I guess a massage was a close second!). As the amazing Gaiadon Masters we have become, we managed to manifest both of these a day early!

And so... I sit here having "returned" to my home in Massachusetts , thinking of all that took place. The changes in me continue to present themselves.

I am thankful I accepted the invitation to go to Tibet . I am thankful for the experience and all that I learned. I am thankful for having a wonderful spiritual family to share all this with. I am thankful I do not have to trek for a "living"...:-)

With Aumni-Love,

Olga Garriga
